Government and
policy
Texas Attorney General John Cornyn has recognized
the importance of our work in the development of successful prevention and
intervention programs for school violence.
The School
Violence Prevention Task Force, created by Mr. Cornyn, has used our work to help guide
their recommendations to school districts in addressing this serious problem.
The work of the CTA in the area of violence prevention was
presented to this task force and is incorporated into the
final report.

Public awareness and education
The CTA was one of many organizations attempting to help
children and families after 9/11. The materials we wrote
within the first days after 9/11 were distributed to more
than 70 percent of the schools in the United States
by our partner Scholastic, Inc. Dozens of versions of
these materials have been used by other agencies and
organizations.
