The Child Trauma Academy (CTA) engages in Clinical Services, Clinical Research, Program Development and Systems Consultation.
Understanding children and the impact of experiences, positive and negative, on the child, family and community have been at the heart of our work for many years. Our research, clinical experiences, training activities and program development have helped influence the direction of research on neurodevelopment, trauma and maltreatment; clinical practices and programs and, indirectly, public policy and practices.
We continue to learn. As we do, we work hard to share our insights and impressions with caregivers, practitioners and policy makers. We are convinced that the more "child literate" we become as a society, the more child- and family-sensitive our practices and policies will be. By helping create safe, nurturing and enriched environments for our children, we are helping our children express their potential; in the end, we will all benefit from the increases in health, humanity, productivity and creativity. |
