View a video of Dr. Perry's recent work with Take Two in Australia. Dr. Perry returned in late September from a very successful series of speaking engagements in Australia including full-day trainings in Melbourne, Cairns, Brisbane, Darwin, Canbera, and Sydney. We were overwhelmed by the positive feedback and interest in our work from those who attended his sessions. Thank you to Annette Jackson and her colleagues at Berry Street and Take Two for the enormous amount of work they put in making this visit possible and so successful. VIEW VIDEO

The NMT Case-Based Training Series is an online clinical case conference series led by Dr. Bruce Perry. The Series consists of ten 90-minute case staffings in which Dr. Perry uses the Neurosequential Model (NMT) to conceptualize each case and further illustrate the model. He presents a brain map for each case and, along with CTA Fellows, teaches on a variety of case-related topics.
It is possible to enroll in recordings of past Case-based Trainings.
During the 2012 Fall Series, one session was dedicated to each to the following topics:
-- Use of NMT Metrics -- Psychopharmacology -- Sleep problems and maltreatment -- Encopresis and fecal smearing -- Neurodevelopmental 'wisdom' of Indigenous healing practices -- Music and the brain -- Neurobiology of empathy -- Physical activity as a therapeutic tool
In each of our NMT Case-based Training Series cases are brought forward by the participants in the series. Participants are provided with topic overviews, annotated bibliographies and handouts. Sessions are recorded and available for convenient viewing. This teaching model has received glowing reviews by participants -- stating it has been extremely useful for helping clinicians and front-line staff better understand the neurodevelopmental principles involved in many of the primary symptoms, as well as strengths, they see in the children they serve.
Recordings -- Organizational Rate is $1525 for all 15 hours of training with up to 25 participants. Individual Rate is $500 for all 15 hours of training.
BORN FOR LOVE: Why Empathy Is Essential and Endangered PURCHASE ONLINE
Dr. Bruce D. Perry and journalist Maia Szalavitz argue that empathy, the ability to recognize and share the feelings of others, is a crucial human quality that underlies much more than love, friendship and parenting. Through compelling personal stories and wide-ranging research, they explore how empathy affects everything from emotional depression to the Great Recession, from physical health to mental health, from our ability to love to criminal behavior and even the rise and fall of societies. |
