Jerry Yager, Psy.D.
Jerry Yager, Psy.D. is a ChildTrauma
Fellow as well as the Executive Director of the Denver
Children’s Home. Dr. Yager came to the Home as Director
of the Residential Treatment Program and currently
serves as the Executive Director. Dr. Yager received
his Doctorate in Clinical Child Psychology from Nova
University.
Dr. Yager has over 20 years of working experience in the
treatment of neglected, abused and traumatized children and
their families as well as risk management, childhood trauma,
and assessment and treatment in a developmental-contextual
framework.
Dr. Yager also serves as a Clinical Consultant at the Denver
Children’s Advocacy Center and a Consultant and Trainer for
Jefferson County Public School’s. Dr. Yager lectures
on the developmental consequences of maltreatment on
children and adolescents for Kempe Children’s Center where
he has served on their Perpetration Prevention study group
since 1986. He has co-authored a chapter on the
“Discovery Process” in the treatment of abused children in
the book The Web of Meaning, Gail Ryan and associates (1999
Safer Society Press), and currently serves as Vice President
of the board for the Colorado Association of Families and
Children’s Agencies (CAFCA).
