Biography
Stewart Gordon M.D., FAAP
Dr. Gordon is a
ChildTrauma Fellow and an Associate Professor of Clinical
Pediatrics for Louisiana State University School of
Medicine, New Orleans. He works at the LSU Health Sciences
Center / Earl K. Long Medical Center in Baton Rouge where he
has served as Chief of Pediatrics since 1998. He has been a
practicing pediatrician with LSUHSC since 1994.
Dr. Gordon earned a
B.S. from Louisiana State University in Microbiology and a
Doctorate in Medicine from LSU Medical School in New
Orleans. He completed his training in Pediatrics with LSU
Medical School’s Department of Pediatrics at Charity
Hospital and Children’s Hospital. He is also an Adjunct
Associate Professor at Pennington Biomedical Research
Center.
Dr. Gordon enjoys
public speaking in his areas of interest which include early
brain development, child advocacy / children’s public
policy, juvenile justice, prevention of child abuse and
neglect and prevention and treatment of childhood obesity.
His professional interests namely involved improving access
and delivering health care services to the uninsured and
underinsured, disadvantaged populations.
